We are writing with some important news to share.
After almost a year of focussed prayer and seeking the Lord, the Executive Leadership have unanimously agreed the Lord is leading us to close Pierrepont as an Ellel Centre and to reinvest all God has poured into it over so many years back into the rest of the UK ministry. We realise that this is significant news for many of you which may take some time to process. We would like to share with you how the Lord has led us and what we believe the future holds for Ellel UK.
We are very aware of the huge blessing Pierrepont has been as a place for people to come from all over the world to receive training and ministry on NETS and on the many other courses and retreats. We are mindful and thankful to the many hundreds of team members that have served the Lord so selflessly at Pierrepont since its purchase in 1995, the faithful ministry team and volunteers who have freely given their time, and the countless number of supporters who have given sacrificially in finance and prayer. God has done amazing things at Pierrepont over the last 28 years and the fruit of this will never be lost for His Kingdom.
As we know how much has been invested into the work at Pierrepont and how faithful God has been, we have not come to this decision lightly. Peter Horrobin and Jill Southern faithfully followed the Lord in purchasing Pierrepont and establishing the work against incredible odds. More recently, Paul and Diane Watson, Morna Gillespie and the current leadership team have done a wonderful job in faithfully carrying the vision of Ellel at Pierrepont. We honour them all for their faith, courage, and work. We give Glory to the Lord for all He has done and each life that has been changed through encountering Him in that beautiful place.
I would like to share with you how we have come to this decision as an Executive Leadership. The Lord has made it clear to us that He is wanting to recalibrate us as a ministry to prepare us for the days ahead. The Executive Leadership has also heard the Lord say He wants “prune” Ellel Ministries in the UK to enable greater fruitfulness for Him. Overall, it is His desire to strengthen the ministry in the UK and internationally for the future we don’t yet see. So, we have taken many months to pray, fast, discuss and seek the Lord over this and we are in full agreement that the Lord is leading us to close Pierrepont.
Alongside the leading of the Lord, we also considered the financial and practical picture. With massively increasing mortgage costs, utility bills and other operating costs we are facing a very significant budget shortfall. There is a need for major renovation work at the centre, and the Lord has not raised up a next generation leader to take the work forward.
Selling the Pierrepont centre will mean we can pay off burdensome mortgages carried by the UK ministry, and we also plan to re-invest resources and bring the remaining UK centres to standards sufficient to secure them for future generations.
God continues to work in incredible ways at all our centres and we believe He is strengthening all He has established to make it secure for the years to come. There is much need around the world, and we feel it is on God’s heart to get the message that “Jesus Heals” out as far and wide as possible. As this season of Ellel Pierrepont comes to a close, we will be looking at new ways we can share the treasury of Kingdom truths that God has invested into the work in ways that are unhindered by costs and the need to access a centre. We will remain a ministry that is dependent on the Lord to meet all our needs with a heart’s desire to be daily led by His Holy Spirit.
We are prioritising Christian ministries as potential purchasers, hoping to see this beautiful property remain in active Kingdom use. During this process, we fully expect that Pierrepont will be continuing with events and NETS until the latter part of the year. At this time we are particularly focused on the team at Pierrepont and will be helping them transition to the next place God has for them, either at another Ellel centre or wherever He is leading.
We want to once again thank each person who has given of their finances, time, intercession, and support to Pierrepont. Our prayers are with you as you receive this news. All you have sown in will continue to bear fruit for the Kingdom of God, as those ‘treasures’ you helped deposit will be ‘carried’ forward and will continue to be used to further His work through Ellel Ministries, both in the UK and world-wide.
Please join with us as we give thanks for all God has done at Pierrepont and as we trust Him to lead us through this season of change and into a new season of fruitfulness for His Glory!
Thank you for your prayers at this time, especially for the team at Pierrepont. We will continue to give updates as things progress but for now we send you blessings from myself, Cath and all the Executive leaders.
