40 Years Celebrating God at Work

Dear Friends,

Today we’re celebrating 40 years of God at work through Ellel Ministries! For four decades, we’ve seen Him draw people closer to Himself, bring healing and restoration, set people free, and equip them to help others. What a faithful God!

We are so thankful to Peter and Fiona Horrobin for the many years they led and developed the work, and for those who pioneered alongside them. We are also grateful for the hundreds of team members, volunteers, donors, prayer ministers and intercessors who have faithfully supported the work over the years. So much of what God has done has been made possible through their service, prayers and generosity.

Below, you’ll find recent updates, photos and testimonies from some of our centres around the world – just a small glimpse of all that God is doing. We hope these stories encourage you and remind you of the difference He continues to make in people’s lives.

As we look back over these 40 years, our hearts are full of gratitude. All the glory belongs to Him!

The vision to reach beyond the walls of our centres is taking shape with our new small-group package By His Stripes due to launch in Spring 2027. Keep an eye out for updates.

The 12 Days was a truly humbling and powerful experience. My Wife and I travelled from Australia looking for a place to rest, re-imagine, re-vision, recalibrate our marriage, our ministry, and our individual journey with God. The teaching was just right. The location was magnificent and the prayer ministry was challenging and liberating. We left hopeful for the future and with a freedom we hadn’t known in years.

Greg, Australia (Pastors 12-Day Retreat at Ellel Scotland)

Ellel’s first event in Kazakhstan welcomed 50 students from 18 churches across four countries. The 6-day Arise course was warmly received, with students set to attend Explore in Omsk and plans for an Explore school in Kazakhstan.

During this week I felt as if the view over a landfill opened in me and God gave me instruments to clear the trash. God brought me back to Himself.

My journey of looking for the one who will save me is over. I found the One. Now I’m on a journey to discover the One who loves me.

Ellel Sydney is entering an exciting new season as Paul and Joanne Ryan (pictured left) step down from leading the work in Australia after 25 years at the centre. They are handing over to Cody and Myriam Butler (pictured right) on 28th November who are full of vision for the days ahead.

A short testimony but by no means limited in giving God the glory for what I am walking away with today. Today, for the first time in my life, I believe that God loves me. I have always heard it and tried to believe it, but never did it penetrate into my heart like it did today.

What God did on Flagship brought an end to three decades of striving! The teaching on discipleship, the heart of God and Christian healing is in-depth and biblical. It has transformed how I understand God and my identity. The biblical principles for receiving and facilitating healing have been priceless for entering into a happier experience as a Christian.

I got a breakthrough in my emotions connected to trauma while spending time with the Lord in the forest.

I’m filled with new joy and going back home, to Ukraine, renewed.

Testimonies from Russian Explore held at Ellel Hungary

Ellel Canada are celebrating 20 years and the completion of 11 new suites! They began to build in 2022. The project now 80% complete, involves converting 12 garages into guest accommodation, a commercial kitchen, additional dining space, and 2 apartments for team housing. Once complete, they will have room for 46 guests!

I was truly blessed by the love, compassion, empathy, tenderness, meekness, encouragement, kindness, gentleness and warmth that was shown towards me. The presence of God was overwhelming.

I was born into a single-parent home, and when I was six, our home became a blended one. As the last child, I grew up carrying abandonment, rejection and a lost sense of identity. Through my time with Ellel, I have been set free and healed from the effects of abandonment, rejection and inner pain that I carried for years. My identity has been restored and affirmed by Father God.

I was able to release to my Father the heavy burdens that were almost engulfing me. I asked Him help me carry only what He allows. I experienced a lot of relief with no guilt!
