Legacy Giving
Donations to our general funds are of most flexible value as we continue to offer personal ministry without charge and subsidised training. However, you can also support more specific needs at the centre in the following ways:
Like any household, emergencies and unexpected breakages and bills happen. Which is why we are so grateful if you are able to help us deal with some of these immediate needs of our work. There is almost always an urgent need, whether it’s a broken down dishwasher or an expensive but leaking roof repair.
The Prayer Tower roof is in need of repair to avoid further damage from leaks. Scaffolding and professional roofers will be required for this important job.
Maintenance of our properties is a huge challenge, especially when the buildings have a historic listed status. We are increasingly mindful of how the passage of time brings wear and tear to the interior and exterior of our buildings. Rain is a perpetual erosion agent and window frames, guttering, roofs and exposed walls are constantly in need of vital, yet often hugely expensive repairs. Your gift means we can keep our buildings healthy, safe and fit for purpose.
We have just completed a redecoration project in our Large Lounge and are now looking to fundraise sufficient funds to replace the very tired furniture. This is a room used for guests to relax and have fellowship together and upgraded sofas, chairs, lighting and furniture will make this a much more comfortable room for everyone.
New carpets are needed in Ellel Grange’s guest lounge and upstairs landing and corridors, which are now long overdue for replacement.
Over the last few years we have been steadily moving around the building and upgrading bedrooms. This includes new wallpaper, paint, carpets and furniture (including beds). We estimate each room will cost around £5,000 to upgrade. Our guests have been commenting on how much the improved rooms have blessed them but we still have a number of rooms to upgrade.
We would love to be able to upgrade the older bed frames and mattresses in the guest bedrooms before we renovate them. A good nights sleep is so important for our guests. The cost of each hotel-quality bed with headboard, mattress and luggage storage is approximately £600 per bed.
Our beautiful hardwood sash windows are in great need of repair. As a listed building there are tight restrictions on how they can be repaired or replaced and the approximate cost of repair for each large window is £2,500. This initial target of £25,000 will enable us to repair all of the windows in the main meeting room.
God never stands still in His vision for His church and His people, and He often calls us into places of faith for things that glorify His name. The work of Ellel never stands still and we find ourselves constantly challenged with what the Lord seeks to do, as He grows His Kingdom influence where it’s allowed to flourish. We therefore would like to share with you these other major projects that we believe the Lord has asked us to accomplish, yet are financially unviable for us without major donation support.
