About the Course

Welcome to Ellel Scotland’s week-long edition of Explore. This event includes courses B4-B6. Following on from B1-B3, this Explore focuses on specific issues that we all face in our lives.

The first part looks at dealing with the power and purpose of our emotions, how they can be damaged, as well as how we should respond to the difficult emotions we all feel from time to time.   This moves onto looking at sexuality and how we express it and where God fits into this area of our lives. The final topic looks at how the Lord can bring radical healing to specific times of accident and trauma and the outworking it has on life today.

Dealing With Difficult Emotions

From the ups to the downs, emotions are an essential part of being human. Without them our relationships are empty and mechanical and our lives grey and colourless.

Yet many of us struggle with our emotions, often trying to deny and even crush them because they seem to be the cause of our problems. The reality is that some emotions seem very hard to handle; they can be overwhelming, seem unacceptable or even feel destructive.

This course seeks to bring a full understanding of what your emotions are, why they exist and how you can handle them in a godly way. It will unpick the intricacies of difficult emotions such as grief, anger and jealousy, and how God has purposed for you to find release and His comfort, so you can move safely through the turmoil and find a new place of rest.

God’s Design For Sexuality

We are facing constant, unprecedented and forceful challenges of secular opinion towards personal identity and sexuality. Maybe you, like many others, are left with very real and honest questions about God’s design for us as sexual beings, possibly even afraid to voice your thoughts or opinions.

This course explores the scriptural foundation for human sexuality as God intended it to be. It will look at the importance and significance of the biblical covenant of marriage, the power of boundaries and will explain how sexual expression outside of this is sinful and has consequences not just on our lives, but all those connected to us.

The course focusses on the heart of God for those in need of healing and restoration and how He offers you cleansing for sexual sin, breaking of ungodly bondages and the joy of walking in purity, however murky the past.

Healing from Accidents and Trauma

It is a well-established medical fact that a sudden accident or trauma can leave a person with ongoing mental, emotional and physical issues, even years after the event. But the world’s solutions to these problems are limited. Medicine, mental resilience and emotional crutches can only support the wounded heart; God, the Creator of our hearts, can bring full and lasting healing to our whole personhood.

This course explores our inner response and the outworking of shock and trauma that can cause untold damage to a person, body, soul and spirit, defining what it really means to be broken inside and how healing on the inside can outwork in miraculous healing on the outside too.

Jesus promised to ‘bind up broken hearted ’ and we know from many years of seeing Him do so, that He can bring wonderful restoration and healing from ongoing issues of fear, anxiety, physical conditions and many other issues that hold you back from living in freedom.

What to Expect

When Jesus spoke, it touched all generations, all personalities and all cultures. It is the same today! The teaching on our courses is primarily grounded in biblical truth and also includes lessons learned from ministering to people over many years.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12, ESV

The teachers on our events have all experienced God’s healing in their lives and are walking their own journey of daily transformation with the Lord. It is out of that journey that they are passionate to share the same life-changing truths with you! With a breadth of different backgrounds and teaching styles, our teachers bring deep ministry experience coupled with strong biblical foundations to deliver a clear journey of learning. They will encourage you to find Christ’s healing, freedom and passion and share with those whom God calls you to minister.
