We are looking for a mature Christian to join our community, coupling the performance of religious duties with a non pastoral but key role in our busy Kitchen at Ellel Grange to start in July.
Given our ethos as a Christian community, applicants are required to be Christians and have a heart for the healing ministry. Participation in our Christian community and performance of religious devotional duties are an essential aspect of this role and include daily team prayer and worship meetings. You will also have opportunities to grow in your Christian faith through regular attendance on teaching courses through our Two-Year Discipleship Programme for your own personal development and to receive prayer ministry.
Other opportunities may include welcoming and/or hosting guests to the centre; training in prayer ministry and opportunities to share short devotional messages with the team and/or guests on events; opportunities for teaching and/or group leading during events with guests.
You will support the Kitchen Manager through your ability to follow a pre-planned menu producing a range of foods and needs for 40 to 100 people on a daily basis.
You will also need to be able to work well as a team member and at times alone. Some prior experience of cooking is essential. We really want a person who enjoys prepping meals and is willing to learn.
The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, be flexible and able to work in a multi-cultural setting. Good communication, time management and people skills are important. A knowledge of basic food safety, food management and allergies are also highly desirable for this role.
The role is a full-time, live-in position and is a fixed term for two years as part of our Service and Discipleship programme. It comes with full board accommodation (private bedroom and shared kitchen, bathroom and living areas) along with an appropriate allowance to cover personal expenses. The role will include evening, weekend and bank holiday working on a rota basis.
