Including Ellel Ministries in your will is easier than you might think, and it can have a significant impact on the future and fruitfulness of the ministry.
Legacy giving means that in years to come there will continue to be a safe place for people to come to receive personal help, training, encouragement and healing in Jesus through Ellel Ministries.
It means we can help to stop the negative cycles of brokenness through relationship breakdown, trauma, abuse and sin and bring God’s people to a place of new life, purpose and wholeness. This not only impacts the individual but brings peace and hope for future generations.
We are so grateful to those who choose to leave a legacy to Ellel Ministries, enabling the mission of Jesus through Isaiah 61 to live on.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
Isaiah 61:1, ESV
Having a will gives you peace of mind for the future. It ensures that your your loved ones are looked after and that the causes you care about can continue to transform lives.
Making a will is simpler than you might think and need not be expensive. We recommend that you have your will written by a solicitor or qualified will writer. They will be able to guide you through each step of the process to make sure your will is as you want it to be.
There are three main types of gift that you can leave in your will for Ellel Ministries.
Known as a ‘residuary legacy’, it is a percentage of what remains of your estate after all other gifts and expenses have been paid. One of the advantages of a residuary legacy is that it will always stay in proportion, because it is a percentage. So you don’t need to worry about changing your will if you have less to leave than you expected.
This is a gift of a set amount, called a ‘pecuniary legacy’.
This could be something valuable such as property, shares or jewellery. If you leave a specific item to Ellel Ministries in your will, the value of your gift will be deducted from your estate before Inheritance Tax is applied, so it could reduce the amount of tax paid.
We recommend you discuss your will and the type of gift you might like to leave to Ellel Ministries with your solicitor or will writer.
