Time Out for Married Couples

Retreat, refreshing and renewal for married couples

Course In Progress

24 - 27 Mar 2022

Ellel Grange

Four Day Event

Thursday Lunch - Sunday Lunch

About the Course

With marriages facing so many pressures, ‘Time out for Married Couples’ is designed to do just that, to give you some quality time out in order to bless you, acknowledge the struggles, and help you flourish in your marriage.

Whether you’re recently married or have been married for many years, this course is designed to help couples who want to enter more fully into God’s plans and purposes for their marriage and to enjoy their lives together.

We will explore what makes marriage so important to God and such a gift to humanity. We will also take an honest look at what can go wrong, how we get wounded and wound others, and how we can apply God’s healing and restoration to one of the most important relationships in our lives.

In addition, the weekend will include time and space to spend together in the beautiful surroundings of the centre, to reflect and to be creative together. There will also be opportunities to receive prayer ministry from an experienced ministry couple.

This course is for couples coming together rather than just one person from a marriage.

Teaching Topics

The teaching will be Biblically grounded and include:

  • Understanding God’s beautiful design for marriage.
  • Exploring how we can be wounded before our marriage, in childhood and earlier in life, how past relationships can poison our current ones, and how those wounds can especially impact our relationship with our spouse.
  • Identifying how we hurt each other within our marriage, what we might instinctively do to navigate that pain and how God can provide healing and a healthier way forward.
  • Exploring the emotions we feel, or suppress, and how we deal with and express them well.
  • Looking at our legitimate needs as husband and wife and how to communicate them to each other.
  • Acknowledging how trust can be damaged and then finding a way forward to restoration and renewed trust.
  • An honest look at sex: the struggles we may encounter and how we might build sexual intimacy within our marriage.
  • Developing a fresh vision of hope for our marriages.
