Glyndley Manor is renowned for its warm, family like atmosphere and is set in the beautiful countryside of East Sussex, near the south coast of England. As well as running longer-courses such as Explore and Impact, and many other courses. Restoration Weeks also offer another retreat style option for those wanting to step out of the world to receive healing and hear God’s voice for their life.
For many who come here, Glyndley becomes a home away from home! Small enough to make you comfortable but big enough to enjoy the privacy needed for a healing journey with Jesus.
Our vision and heart at Glyndley focuses on ‘Restoration’ and ‘Family’ by providing people with a safe place to allow God to meet with them personally so they can receive the healing and restoration they need and to equip and train the church to minister to others.
There are a wide selection of courses available, some that are teaching based on subjects such as marriage, relationships and leadership. Our other type of courses are less teaching based and more of a retreat style programme. Unique to Glyndley, we use our homely setting to provide a place set apart for guests to “do business with God”, and is somewhere to listen to God’s word of healing or direction for their lives.
We look forward to welcoming and serving you at Glyndley.
In 1991, Glyndley Manor was purchased by the Christian Trust for the southern extension of the work of Ellel Ministries. The Manor itself was first built in the 16th century during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I (1558 to 1603). William the Conqueror landed in England about 3 miles east of Glyndley in the most memorable of years, 1066. Over a century before, a Royal Charter of King Eadred (947) refers to ‘three hides of land at West Hankham and Glynleigh.’ Reference is made in a list of ‘dissenting congregations’ in Sussex, dated 1715, to a Presbyterian congregation of 110 meeting at Glinley near Hailsham.
There are also 34 Holiday Cottages on site, which came under the management of Ellel Ministries in 2000. These were built in 1978 and are part of the vision of what God had in store for Glyndley Manor. Several alterations have been made to the Manor since 1991: conference room extension, building bedrooms, the lift and accessible toilets (2013) and the creativity centre (2018). The Manor is only a few miles away from the south coast of England, with a wealth of beautiful Sussex countryside readily accessible.
Here at Ellel Glyndley we run a varied range of courses: We run EXPLORE which is a series of weekend courses designed to train and equip God’s people through a journey of transformation.
In addition, we host special Restoration Weeks. These weeks are ideal if you desire to go deeper with your relationship with God. They include teaching sessions, creativity workshops, fellowship, and opportunity to receive personal ministry. We offer a range of topics for you to choose from.
We are also running Impact, originally done at Ellel Scotland. It is primarily designed for those who want to be further equipped to minister to people in need of the healing touch of Jesus.
We then have a full calendar of weekend courses, Healing Retreats and free events for you to choose from. As well as the events held at the centre, we have some special offers available to pastors and leaders, to provide refreshment, rest, and restoration.
Glyndley Manor offers some longer residential courses, ideal for those that want to go deeper into their Christian walk. Glyndley runs Ellel’s popular Explore course, which is held over a series of weekend events, and our Impact 20-day course. We hope you can join us.
At Ellel Glyndley Manor, Explore is a series of weekend courses designed to train and equip God’s people through a journey of learning, understanding and personal transformation.
Explore is ideal for those who would like a training course spread across a whole year (with an option to do a second year’s course), enabling you to enjoy rich fellowship with new friends, discover and apply healing principles in your life and that of others, and grow in a deeper understanding of your personal relationship with God. The core aims of the course are to envision your walk with the Lord, grow your spiritual gifts, cleanse and heal past and present wounds in your life and help prepare your next steps in what God has for your life. Between each course you will have the time to use your Explore teaching notes and journal and apply those truths, reflecting on each step of your journey. It’s a thrilling spiritual journey and we think you will love it!
Impact is a 20 day concentrated programme of teaching and practical ministry experience, designed to better equip you to fulfil Jesus’ commission to bring healing to others, as well as to experience greater personal wholeness in your own life.
It is primarily designed for those who want to be further equipped to minister to people in need of the healing touch of Jesus. Often popular with pastors and leaders, this course requires a good level of Christian maturity to make the most of the concentrated teaching schedule and practical workshops.
Ellel Glyndley Manor runs a full schedule of short courses that cover many subjects. We especially recommend our Restoration Weeks, which are run several times a year on different themes. There is a choice of many other shorter courses, including free teaching taster days and the convenience of long weekend courses.
Restoration Weeks are an insightful blend of teaching and ministry, designed to build you back up from a place of woundedness into renewal.
Who are they for?
Glyndley Manor runs a variety of 1-4 day courses with residential and non-residential options. Explore can be booked on a per-course basis, though for greatest impact, we highly recommend committing to the entire weekend series of Explore. Some courses are so popular that we run them on a regular basis, such as Getting to the Root of the Problem.
A number of our shorter courses have healing prayer ministry opportunities – check the course’s page for more details. Examples of the 1-4 day courses we may run are as follows:
And much more!
Have you got questions about who Ellel Ministries are? Or perhaps you’d like to know more about healing and discipleship?
Our exciting free days will give you the opportunity of tasting for yourself some of the helpful teaching at Glyndley Manor as we look at various aspects of healing. Come and find out what God can do for you! The day begins with coffee and registration followed by a time of worship, leading into ‘bite sized’ teaching on a variety of topics such as Inner healing, deliverance ministry, ungodly fear and how to hear God. We will enjoy a cooked lunch, afternoon refreshments and time to discover the beautiful grounds and the holiday cottages. There is usually an opportunity for prayer ministry at the end of the day.

Bring clarity and understanding to the recurring struggles of life by looking beyond the presenting problems and investigating the deeper roots.
One of our foundational scriptures is Luke 9:11,
“Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the kingdom of God, and healed those in need.”
These three elements make up our work at Ellel Glyndley Manor.
Where do we start? How do we begin to change? No matter who you are — or where you are in your relationship with God — Our desire is to facilitate healing and restoration in your Christian walk, as well as to equip and train you to minister to others.
So, come, start your journey today.
I came a very angry, broken and confused person who desperately wanted a quick fix. My mind was trapped, full of tormenting thoughts and memories, a constant barrage of regret, grief, hurt and anger. Although still on a journey of healing, I can now see God’s transforming power in my life.
We do hope you make yourself comfortable during your stay; we have a relaxing lounge with puzzles and board games aplenty!
If you prefer reading, you may want to indulge in some inspiring and very helpful reads from our well stocked bookshop, or perhaps find a book in our little lending library below the stairs. Or just enjoy a good cup of tea or coffee in the bar area. As beautiful and welcoming as we hope you find the indoors, we do hope you find a chance to pop outside and enjoy the beautiful gardens and grounds. During your time here, you can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool (summer months) and the fishing lake.
We offer a wide range of accommodation. For each course, there are different types of accommodation depending on preference.

Our centres also need regular maintenance and sometimes significant projects are required to enable us to keep going with the vision God has given us.
