Sovereign World is the Book Publishing House of Ellel Ministries based at Ellel Grange, Lancaster.

The Bookkeeper has responsibility for the day to day bookkeeping and accounting of all financial transactions within Sovereign World. Initially whilst the finance aspect of this role is full time, other administrative duties and or project work may be added to the role, depending on the successful applicant’s skill set and the time available.

Sovereign World has published Christian books for over 30 years producing a carefully selected range of books which present a balance of both the Word of God and the Spirit of God.

The role involves full responsibility for the preparation of accounts and other relevant financial information for Sovereign World

Christian Involvement

As a part of the wider Ellel Ministries team, you will participate in daily team prayer and worship meetings and be encouraged to participate in sharing a short devotional message with the team or guests on a rota basis.  We will also give you opportunities to grow in your Christian faith through scheduled attendance on Ellel teaching courses and by being around like-minded people who want to serve the Lord.  In your own time there are many further opportunities to receive Ellel’s teaching and be involved with the heart of what we are doing.

Practical Roles

The successful applicant will need to have a good understanding of finance and accounts procedures, along with customer care skills, and be able to relate well to people.  Computer literacy including the use of Sage (or similar accounting software) and online banking software, MS Office, diligence, good communication skills and the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines are essential

Remuneration

We normally work 40 hours a week with normal hours being 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, although flexibility will be required to meet urgent deadlines.

This vacancy is primarily offered as a full time live-in position with full board accommodation (private bedroom and shared kitchen, bathrooms and living areas) along with an appropriate allowance to cover personal expenses. Those only wishing to work part time in finance will also be considered in which case the role may also be combined, where appropriate, with another suitable role on team to make up full time hours. (A part-time live out role with remuneration commensurate with experience and our charity allowance structure may also be considered for the right applicant).
